T-shirts are a wardrobe staple, but sometimes they can start to crack and look worn out. This is often due to the fabric being stretched and then returning to its original shape. Luckily, there are a few ways to fix this issue.
If the cracking is only on a small section of the shirt, you can try to fix it yourself by sewing it back together. Use a needle and thread to sew the fabric back together in a straight line. Make sure that the thread is the same color as the shirt, or that it is a contrasting color so that it is visible.
If the cracking is more widespread, or if it is too difficult to sew the fabric back together by hand, you can try to fix it with a sewing machine. Sew a zigzag stitch over the cracking to hold the fabric together. This will not be as strong as a straight stitch, but it will be enough to hold the fabric together until it can be fixed properly.
If the shirt is not newly bought, you can try to soak it in a mixture of water and vinegar for about 30 minutes.
If the shirt is not newly bought and you do not want to soak it, you can try to iron it on the reverse side with a damp cloth.
